Keisha Wilkins
Executive Director

Keisha is a wife and mother of three, born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. She attended West Chester University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2000. While working as a juvenile therapist, Keisha’s passion for working with youth landed her a position as a Literacy Intern with the School District of Philadelphia in 2001. She earned an M.S. in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph’s University in 2003 and an M.S. Ed. in Educational Administration from Gwynedd-Mercy University in 2006. A graduate and proud product of the Philadelphia school system, Keisha graduated from McCall Elementary and Bodine HS for International Affairs in 1996.

Keisha has been a dedicated change agent and influencer, working for the School District of Philadelphia in several capacities including gifted education Teacher, Dean of Students, Instructional Coach, and currently, the Principal of Martin Luther King HS. Keisha has been featured in Chalkbeat and The Uptown Standard Newspapers for her work with youth combating gun violence and trauma. Additionally, Keisha is the first HS Principal in Philadelphia to have four Black male teachers in all her 9th-grade core subject classes.

Outside of her educational practice, and volunteerism, Keisha is an avid runner, powerlifter, and CrossFit enthusiast, who has run 100+ 5k’s, 10k’s, half-marathons, full marathons, and a 31-mile ultra-marathon. Principal Wilkins is a former Board Director of The Cheyney Foundation, newly elected Vice President of the West Chester University Black Alumni Chapter, Formerly the Top Teens Advisor of the Philadelphia Chapter of The Top Ladies of Distinction, a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, a Legacy Life member of NCNW, Education and Research Chair for Teamsters National Black Caucus, and a Deaconess at The Ezekiel Baptist Church.
